Firefighters Battle Raging Wildfire That Threatened To Burn Down Homes

Firefighters in the US State of Louisiana are battling to prevent houses getting burned down in a raging wildfire as police work to evacuate numerous citizens.

Many residents were spared losing their homes as firefighting teams managed to contain one wildfire that started on 26th August and reached the Vernon Parish.

One area had to be quickly evacuated as the blaze encroached within a mile of it.

Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office said in 27th August statement:”We are notifying residents along Lions Camp Road, Ronayne Drive, Ford Stewart, West Hawthorne Road, and Vernon Lake Road that they can reoccupy their homes.

“While responders tackle lingering hot spots to prevent potential flare-ups, residents should stay alert and prepared for potential deteriorations requiring evacuation.

“Those not residing in the area are urged to avoid entry, as excessive traffic could hinder workers’ efforts.”
