Helicopter Crews Battle Wildfire Using Seawater Collected With Brand-New Technology

This is the remarkable moment emergency helicopter crews douse a raging wildfire with the help of a new Bambi bucket that can relocate water from streams, rivers or other sources.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Aviation Unit used the bucket to collect water from the Gulf of Mexico while responding to the fire in Egmont Key, in the US State of Florida on 13th August.

The fire had already spread across nearly 30 acres when HCSO’s Aviation Unit, armed with a state-of-the-art Bambi Bucket, took to the skies.

Sheriff Chad Chronister highlighted the extensive capabilities of the Aviation Unit’s pilots and tactical flight deputies.
