A lucky bloke in the USA has won a brand new USD 81,000-worth truck on a lottery scratchcard for the second time.
Dennis Odgaard from the city of Columbus, in the US state of Nebraska, reportedly won his first pickup on a USD 2 (GBP 1.6) ‘Truck$ & Buck$’ ticket he bought at the local Corner Shop in 2004.
Now, two decades later, the trucky man was stunned to uncover another 2023 Ford F-150 XLT 4×4 Crew Cab Flex Fuel truck after purchasing a ticket at a different retailer, Super Saver.
Dennis and his wife Diane collected their prize at Nebraska Lottery headquarters on Tuesday, 5th December.
When asked about the grand win, the couple said they would buy 10 tickets once a week and scratch them off as part of a routine.
But since they never won any big amounts, they would always trade their winning tickets for fresh ones.
Diane said in a statement obtained by CEN from Nebraska Lottery: “It’s still just as exciting and surprising as the first time.”
And Dennis added: “It’s a shock. Shock. Still a shock.”
Lottery representatives said: “The 28th edition of the Nebraska Lottery’s popular USD 2 [GBP 1.6] Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game features the 2023 Ford F-150 XLT 4×4 SuperCrew Flex Fuel truck as its top prize.
“Players have the opportunity to win one of eight Ford F-150 trucks as well as cash and Ethanol-enriched fuel prizes.
“The truck prize is valued at USD 81,000 [GBP 64,658], which includes USD 1,160 for costs associated with ownership and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery of USD 4,050 [GBP 3,232] and USD 19,400 [GBP 15,486], respectively.
“The odds of winning the top prize in Truck$ & Buck$ are 1 in 336,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.69.”
