A lucky man in the USA has become a millionaire after scooping a newly launched scratchcard at a local retailer.

Kenneth Conklin, 51, from the city of Chipley, Florida State, USA, uncovered the USD 1 million (GBP 822,620) on a ‘USD 5,000,000 Triple Match’ ticket last week.
The astonishing win, which made him the first-ever millionaire in the game that launched in September, followed after he reportedly bought a ticket at the local Tom Thumb store.
At lottery headquarters in the city of Tallahassee, Kenneth chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment and went home with USD 664,198 (GBP 546,402).
The retailer will receive a USD 2,000 (GBP 1,645) bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Florida Lottery representatives said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Conklin is the first to win one of the 18 available USD 1 million [GBP 822,620] prizes in the Lottery’s new ‘USD 5,000,000 TRIPLE MATCH’ Scratch-Off game, which launched in September.
