Police Officers Save Driver Trapped In Sinking Vehicle At Retention Pond

Four Florida cops were hailed heroes after rescuing a driver who had accidentally driven into a pond and was trapped in the sinking vehicle.

The Orlando Police Department officers rushed to a retention pond along the on-ramp from 408 East to I4 East in the city of Orlando after receiving a distress call on the night of 6th August.

The vehicle, occupied by a lone driver, had veered off course and plunged over the embankment while navigating the on-ramp curve.

Upon arrival, the vehicle was partially submerged, and the driver struggled to shatter the window.

Without hesitation, the four officers leapt into the water, shattered the window, and successfully rescued the occupant mere moments before the vehicle fully sunk.

Additional officers, armed with ropes, provided essential support, ensuring a safe extraction with no reported serious injuries.

OPD Officers Crow, Harmon, Kissane, and Peterson were later praised for their quick actions that saved a person’s life.
