Sheriff’s Deputies Brave Darkness To Rescue Crash Victims From Submerged Car

In a daring rescue operation, two Florida sheriff’s deputies demonstrated exceptional courage and quick thinking as they pulled off a rescue in challenging conditions.

The incident, where a Nissan Altima crashed through a fence, hurtled into a retention pond and disappeared beneath the surface unfolded around 2:30 a.m. on the 19th of August in Orlando, Florida.

Deputies Yortsan Gandia Ares and Tyler Casto from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrived promptly at the scene. They heard cries for help from the murky pond and wasted no time. Plunging into the 16-foot deep water, they discovered a man struggling to stay afloat and an unconscious woman submerged.

Without hesitation, the deputies swiftly brought both victims to safety and administered life-saving CPR. Body camera footage shared on social media depicted the deputies resuscitating the woman, reviving her just in time as paramedics arrive.

The 42-year-old driver and 33-year-old woman were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver explained that he hadn’t realized the road ended, resulting in the crash.
