Deputy Stops 16-Year-Old Driving At 132 Mph, Shares Tragic Lesson With Teen’s Parents

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office shared a video showing the moment deputies stopped a 16-year-old boy who drove at over 130 mph as a cautionary tale to all parents.

Body-cam footage shows Corporal Greg Rittger speaking to the teen driver who got caught speeding at a shocking 132 mph on I-4.

Rittger called the teen’s parents to the scene and shared a heartbreaking story with them.

He recounted a past incident involving another 16-year-old who had also been stopped for speeding in a brand-new Mustang.

Tragically, just three weeks later, that teen crashed the car into a tree, resulting in a devastating loss for the family.

Along with the words of warning, Rittger issued the 16-year-old a speeding ticket that requires a court appearance, carrying a statutory fine of USD 1,104 (GBP 864).

He also emphasised to the teen and his parents that, had he been 18 years old, the consequences would have been even more severe and could include jail time.
