A furious husband accused of beating a man senseless with a metal baseball bat as he romped naked with his wife at an Airbnb love nest has been seized by police.

Angry John Dimmig, 33, is said to have burst into the apartment in the city of Lake Worth Beach, in the US state of Florida, after suspecting his wife was cheating with a workmate.

And he allegedly used the metal bat to beat her lover mercilessly before fleeing after the attack on 17th June.

Dimmig – now charged with attempted murder – is said to have told his rival: “Don’t ever go near my wife again.”

The police followed a trail of blood to find the lover – who has not been named – trying to stem the flow with a towel held to his head as he lay on the bed.

He was taken to nearby St Mary’s Hospital by paramedics with serious injuries.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said Dimmig was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and committing burglary with battery.

The victim, who has not been named, told the police he is from Arizona and was working in town as a hospital CT technician.

He said he went for drinks with Dimmig’s wife, who has not been named either, before the pair went back to his Airbnb rental for sex.

He reportedly told officers they were in bed when he heard the apartment door crash open.

He said that he was confronted by Dimmig, who pinned him to the floor and allegedly hit him three times with the bat.

The police arrest report states that the accused’s wife pulled her husband off the victim.

The victim later told police: “I felt like he was out to kill me.”

The police said that CCTV footage reportedly shows the accused entering the property with the bat.

A woman can then reportedly be heard screaming in the footage: “John! Stop! He’s bleeding!”

The police reportedly retrieved the black, metal baseball bat along with bloodied clothes from Dimmig’s home.

He was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail and is next scheduled to appear in court on 17th July.
