A lucky lady thought she had won USD 1,000 on a scratch card, but when she kept uncovering more zeros she then realised that she had won USD one million instead.

The unnamed woman from the city of Troy, Missouri State, USA, said she was amazed when the ‘USD 1,000,000 Money Multiplier’ ticket she bought at Kroger unveiled more zeros than she initially expected.
She said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from Missouri Lottery: “I was scratching it off, and I thought it was a USD 1,000 [GBP 787] prize, and then I saw all those extra zeros!”
The fortunate woman revealed how she was unable to decide which scratch card to get but ended up listening to her gut instinct.
She said: “I was choosing between three of the USD 10 [GBP 8] tickets and that one caught my eye.”
She also told lottery officials she will use the money to buy a new house.

Missouri Lottery said: “So far, ‘USD 1,000,000 Money Multiplier’ players have won over USD 17.9 million [GBP 14.1 million] in prizes playing the USD 10 [GBP 8] game.
“Over USD 16 million [GBP 12.6 million] remain in unclaimed prizes, including another top prize of USD 1 million [GBP 786,720].
“In FY22, players in Lincoln County won more than USD 9.8 million [GBP 7.7 million] in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than USD 905,000 [GBP 712,000] in commissions and bonuses, and more than USD 1.2 million [GBP 945,000] in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.”
