Bodycam and aviation videos shared by joint police forces in the USA have shown the moment an armed suspect holds an innocent victim hostage.

The shocking video shared by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office shows the offender – identified as John Coker, 36 – pointing two guns at police officers in Florida State, USA.

As he refuses to listen to the officers’ commands to drop the weapons, four deputies and one officer can be seen firing their service guns.

Coker was later transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

He faces charges of stealing a vehicle, grand theft of a motor vehicle, armed carjacking, armed burglary, armed kidnapping, in addition two double charges for felony in possession of a firearm, grand theft of a firearm and aggravated assault on an LEO.

Following the incident Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office: “This wasn’t a mistake or a misunderstanding.

“This dangerous felon made deliberate choices that endangered the life of an innocent victim and the lives of several law enforcement officers.

“I can’t say enough about the careful but quick response of our deputies, the Dade City Police Officers, and the Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies.

“Their outstanding work ensured no other community member became a victim of this violent felon.”

“Dade City Police Chief James Walters added: “The citizens are extremely lucky that no one was injured besides this suspect, and the only reason that no one was injured was because of the brave actions of law enforcement officers who serve and protect every single day.”
