The photographs show how the temperature inside the vehicle reached about 190 degrees Fahrenheit – which is an incredible 87.77 degrees Celsius.

The National Weather Service said that the temperature outside the vehicle was 105 degrees Fahrenheit – or 40.55 degrees Celsius and that it took about four and a half hours to bake the cookies.

The stunt was apparently geared towards warning people about staying too long in hot vehicles in the scorching sun or leaving children inside them.

Newsflash obtained a statement and images from the US National Weather Service Midland Texas on Tuesday, 18th July, saying: “It’s currently around 105°F outside. After about four and a half hours and nearly 190°F dashboard heat… we have mostly baked cookies!

“Even though ours weren’t golden brown cooked, this heat is still INCREDIBLY dangerous to anyone left in a hot car. LOOK before you LOCK!” (sic)

One of the National Weather Service workers, who has not been named, reportedly said that the cookies were “delicious”.

Large portions of the United States are experiencing an unprecedented heatwave, as well as other parts of the northern hemisphere.

Approximately 90 million people in the United States were expected to be experiencing dangerous levels of heat by yesterday, Thursday.
