Troopers from the Delaware State Police seized local man Jamal Wing in Wilmington on 8th July.

The incident began shortly before 2am, when a trooper saw a car speeding and initiated a traffic stop.

After stopping in a nearby car park, 47-year-old Wing forcibly resisted when troopers tried to arrest him with the help of a police dog.

Bizarrely, during the struggle, Wing allegedly bit the dog multiple times. The troopers later told how his breath had smelt of alcohol at the time.

After they finally managed to subdue him, he was taken to a local hospital for treatment for injuries sustained during the struggle.

While in hospital, the suspect allegedly continued to resist arrest and assaulted a trooper, injuring him.

The officer and another trooper injured by Wing required medical check-ups. The suspect has since been discharged and is in custody.

Superintendent Colonel Melissa Zebley of the Delaware State Police said in a statement obtained by Newsflash on 10th July: “The Delaware State Police arrested 47-year-old Jamal Wing of Wilmington, Delaware for felony resisting arrest, assaulting troopers, and DUI following a traffic stop that took place in Wilmington early this morning.

Wing was taken into custody a short time later and troopers smelled alcohol coming from his breath and detected signs of impairment. Wing was transported to an area hospital by EMS for injuries he sustained from resisting. At the hospital, Wing continued to resist and assaulted a trooper causing the trooper injury and damaging Delaware State Police property.

“Two troopers and K9 Mako were injured by Wing and required medical evaluation at an area hospital.
