Brittany Ann McClure faced one count of sodomy with a dog and one charge of cruelty to an animal during a court hearing in Taylor, in the US state of Michigan, on 9th August.
Her former lover – who was not named – allegedly witnessed McClure performing sex acts on their dog, Max, on a home surveillance video.
Detective Philip Collop told the court before the hearing that the man claimed to have caught his ex-girlfriend on camera inside their shared home.
Collop said: “In that video, it shows defendant Brittany McClure lying on the living room floor on a mattress with a blanket.
“She opens the blanket and calls the dog over.
“She is heard saying ‘good boy’.”

Lieutenant Frank Canning told local media that he had never encountered anything like this in 20 years of law enforcement.
Canning said: “It was unmistakable: his ex-girlfriend performing fellatio on their dog named Max and her attempts to get Max to reciprocate.
“Seemed like a fetish seen on the internet. I can’t see any justification for these actions. She admitted to performing these acts on Max.”
The dog was apparently unharmed and has been returned to the care of her ex-boyfriend.
McClure was ordered to avoid any contact with animals, and the judge set a USD 100,000 (GBP 78,300) bail bond.
Police stated that McClure claimed this was a one-off occurrence.
