A man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend because she refused to get an abortion has been seized by police in Florida.

Mum-of-one Kaylin Fiengo, 18, had been found by police dead in a parked car with its engine running with a single gunshot wound nine months ago, in November, 2022.

Her boyfriend Donovan Faison, 21, was arrested and accused of double homicide for the killing of Kaylin and her unborn child.

Faison – it has emerged – had arranged to meet Kaylin in a car park in Sanford to discuss the pregnancy.

But in a press release obtained by Newsflash Sanford Police Department on 29th August, the police said that her refusal to get an abortion was the “probable motive” for the killing.

Police chief Cecile Smith said: “The senselessness of this type of violence is infuriating.

“Kaylin was a young mother who had her whole life ahead of her. This violence and destruction won’t be tolerated in our community.”

He added: “This beautiful young woman and mother was taken from this world far too soon, and in a horrific way.

“We hope that today’s arrest brings the slightest amount of peace for Kaylin’s family and the young son she left behind. It doesn’t bring her back, but at least she will have the justice she deserves.”

Her dad, named as Ricky Fiengo said: “It’s senseless. It’s just so senseless.

“She was fun-loving, happy, funny, a go-getter teenager. I just need there to be closure.”
