A lucky man in the USA has been looking forward to devouring a big bowl of fruit on the beach after hitting USD 300,000 on the lottery.

Jamaar Field from the city of Detroit, Michigan State, USA, said he had to call for help after being uncertain about the massive prize he saw on his Bingo Blockbuster ticket.

The 45-year-old man said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from Michigan Lottery: “I don’t usually play Bingo games, so when I scratched the ticket off, I just couldn’t understand what I was seeing.

“I called my niece, and she came over to look at the ticket. When she told me how much I had won, I couldn’t believe my ears.

“Having USD 300,000 [GBP 236,943] all at once is a very surreal feeling. I’m a very humble person, so sitting here to claim this much money is unbelievable to me.”

Jamaar said he was finally convinced about winning big when he took the ticket at the Fenkell Express retailer where he initially bought it.

He said: “I took the ticket up to the store and they scanned it and told me to call the Lottery. That’s when I knew I had won a good size prize.”

The lucky player said he plans to invest in his business and then take a vacation upon collecting his prize at lottery headquarters on Thursday, 31st August.

He added: “Once everything settles down, I’m taking a vacation to sit on the beach and eat a big bowl of fruit.”

Michigan Lottery said: “Players have won more than USD 20.5 million [GBP 16.1 million] playing Bingo Blockbuster which launched in June 2022.

“Each USD 5 [GBP 4] ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from USD 5 [GBP 4] up to USD 300,000 [GBP 236,943].

“More than USD 5 million [GBP 3.9 million] in prizes remain, including one USD 10,000 [GBP 7,882] prize, six USD 2,000 [GBP 1,576] prizes, and 16 USD 1,000 [GBP 788] prizes.

“Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.”
