A US pastor is accused of raping his stepdaughter over 600 times, leading to pregnancy, and abandoning a baby she had as a result at a fire station.

Robert L. Carter, a 39-year-old from Houston, Texas, was arrested last week and is now charged with sexual assault of a child between the ages of 14 and 17, along with continuous sexual abuse of a child.

According to court documents, allegations suggest that the sexual abuse began in 2008 when the child was just 7 years old.

Carter is accused of engaging in inappropriate acts such as dry-humping and forcing the child to perform oral sex on him.

Additionally, the documents allege that Carter attempted to entice the child with candy for these illicit acts, although records indicate that the child resisted.

The court records further detail that Carter would impose himself upon the child while other family members were asleep.

The situation escalated over the years, occurring in various locations, including their home during nighttime, Carter’s grandmother’s residence, and in the parking lot behind an H-E-B before dropping the victim off at school.

The warrant also mentions that Carter would take the victim to the Greater Bible Way Church in Sunnyside, where he had an office, and commit further acts of sexual abuse.

When the girl reached the age of 16, the warrant states, she had Carter’s baby, which he allegedly dropped off at a fire station.

The father of the victim, who chose not to reveal his identity to safeguard his daughter’s privacy, expressed concern to local media, saying, “What if she would’ve died that night? She had that baby in the closet, by herself’.

“He came and got the baby and took the baby to a fire station and dropped the baby off.”

Carter is currently in custody at the Harris County Jail with a bond set at USD100,000 (GBP 81,677).

The victim, now in her 20s, is reportedly taking steps to regain custody of her child.
