A tubby beggar hoping to scrounge a meal in the USA used a gun on a ‘disrespectful’ McDonald’s customer he had asked for food outside the restaurant and forced him to buy him a Big Mac and a Happy Meal.
George Keith Demarrias from the city of Bismarck, North Dakota State, USA, approached the customer named Trent Guthmiller, 43, as he was about to enter the fast food chain on Burnt Boat Drive on Saturday, 30th September.
The 33-year-old offender then reportedly asked him for ‘a Big Mac and a Happy Meal’ to which the customer allegedly responded by telling him “to go get a job”, and proceeded to order his own food.
Infuriated, Demarrias then followed the 43-year-old man into the restaurant, after which he pulled a gun out of his waistband and pointed it at Guthmiller in front of terrified guests, some of whom were children.
Demarrias then reportedly told Guthmiller that what he said was ‘disrespectful’. He was joined by Elouise Flyingby Demarrias, 27, in the incident, although it is unclear what their relationship was.
Bismarck Police Department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Demarrias proceeds to call Guthmiller a son of a bi**h and tells him to f**k off before stowing the firearm back in his waistband and leaving the restaurant.
“Upon arrival, officers on the scene had already located the suspect, George Dimarrias, nearby.
“Officers also located a black Taurus model G3 9mm handgun which Demarrias had concealed in the stroller of his one-year-old daughter.”
They then reportedly pointed their weapons in his and his young daughter’s direction and arrested him.
The 33-year-old man was charged with a Class C felony for terrorising with a dangerous weapon and booked at the Burleigh County jail on a USD 10,000 (GBP 8,238) cash bond.
A judge ordered him not to have contact with Guthmiller.
Flyingby was also arrested outside of the restaurant and received charges for giving cops a fake name, as she first presented herself as Brianne Flyingby when quizzed.
She was sentenced to 10 days in jail, according to media.
