A man accused of pulling his roommate’s eyes out of their sockets during a fight at psychiatric hospital has been seized by police in Florida.
Suspect Reinaldo Bermeosolo, 34, has been charged with aggravated battery after the gruesome brawl at South Florida State Hospital on 22nd September.
Pembroke Pines Police Department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Officers were escorted by the staff members to a secure room in the hospital and met with the suspect.
“The victim had already been transported to a local hospital as a result of severe injuries that he sustained during the physical altercation.
“During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect and victim are court ordered to be at the facility as patients.
“The suspect and victim are roommates and were involved in a verbal argument which turned physical.
The statement went on: “The suspect punched the victim in the face and then dragged him onto the ground.
“Once on the ground, the suspect continued to punch the victim and eventually, the suspect pulled both of the victim’s eyes out of his eye-sockets.
“Another patient happened to be walking passed the room where the altercation was occurring and alerted hospital staff.”
The police arrested the suspect while the investigation is ongoing.
The victim’s current condition is unknown.
