This is the moment Santa Claus gets a police escort to a traditional lighting of the Christmas tree in Merriam, in the US State of Kansas.

Aerial footage shows Mayor Bob Pape, dressed as Father Christmas, sitting in a carriage decorated with lights and being pulled by a tractor all the way to its destination on 6th December.

Upon their arrival, the mayor, who was escorted by police patrol cars, joined the local community for the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at the Merriam Municipal Plaza.

Activities reportedly include time with Santa, live music, crafts, treats, and more.
