An Arkansas police officer has been arrested after trying to have sex with an undercover police officer who was posing as an underage girl.
Telvin Wilson, 31, of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, in Texarkana, in the US state of Arkansas, was arrested by his colleagues across state lines in the Texarkana Texas Police Department.
Texarkana is a large city made up of two administrations, one on either side of the border between Arkansas and Texas.
Offices with the Texarkana Texas Police Department posted an advert on a website known for prostitution and posed as an underage girl.
Despite telling everyone that she was underage, the cops said three men still wanted to have sex with her.
One of the three men was allegedly Wilson, a cop on the Arkansas side of town.
After being lured to a location where police were in fact waiting for them, the men were arrested.
Along with Wilson, the other two have been named as Adarius Wills, 33, who has been charged with online solicitation of a minor and delivery of cannabis, and James Willis, 37, who has been charged with online solicitation of a minor, delivery of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, evading arrest, abandoning/endangering a child with intent to return and possession of a controlled substance.
Wilson was charged with online solicitation of a minor.
Newsflash obtained a statement from the Texarkana Texas Police Department on Friday, 4th August, saying: “Our Special Investigations Unit conducted a sting operation over the last two days in an effort to combat child sexual trafficking in our area and arrested three people.
“Officers posted a fake ad on a website known to offer prostitution services and then posed as an underage girl when men responded to the ad.”
The statement also said: back “Even though the ‘girl’ told each of them that she talked to that she was underage, each of the three men still wanted to come meet up with her and offered to pay her for sex.
“When the guys showed up and knocked, they were shocked when several police officers answered the door instead of the young girl they were expecting.
“All the suspects were arrested and booked into the Bi-State Jail. We charged Adarius Wills, 33, for Online Solicitation of a Minor (Sexual Conduct) and Delivery of Marijuana.
“His bond was set at USD 85,000. Telvin Wilson, 31, was also charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor (Sexual Conduct), and his bond was set at USD 100,000.
“James Willis, 37, was charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor (Sexual Conduct), Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest, Abandoning/Endangering a Child with Intent to Return, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond has not yet been set.
“Thank you to the investigators with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, and Texas Department of Public Safety for their invaluable help with this operation.”
