Loose Wheel Kills Mum Driving Car With Family

A mother was killed when a tyre came loose and smashed into the car she was travelling in with her hubby and four kids.

The accident happened when the tyre struck Tammy Parsons on the driver’s side of the car as she dove along Interstate 64 in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA, killing her instantly.

Her husband and their four children who were in the vehicles survived the accident that happened on 1st October.

Tammy, 53, had been with her family on a trip to Busch Gardens when the wheel came loose from a Jeep Renegade driven by Kimberly Anne Ashe from Williamsburg, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The wheel from the westbound vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes, colliding with the driver’s side of the 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Tammy.

She sustained severe injuries and died as a result.

Authorities have confirmed that Tammy was accompanied by her husband and four children at the time of the incident, all of whom emerged from the vehicle unscathed.

According to Virginia State Police, speed and alcohol are not considered contributing factors in the crash, but charges are pending.

In the wake of this tragedy, two GoFundMe campaigns have been launched to assist with Tammy Parsons’ memorial expenses. The first campaign has raised USD 4,859 (GBP 3,985) while the second has garnered USD 5,275 (GBP 4,326).

Brittany Tedder shared her grief in a heartfelt message on one of the fundraising pages: “If you knew Tammy, you know she was a bright light who lit up any room she walked into”.

“She is going to be deeply missed, and our family appreciates all of the prayers and support”.
