A lucky couple in Australia has spent the whole night awake after realising that they won GBP 345,000 on the lottery.
The pair from the town of Tatura, in Australia’s region of Victoria, said they were unable to sleep after finding out about their AUD 657,257 (GBP 345,046) win on Saturday, 18th November.
The lucky lady, whose ticket matched numbers 8, 7, 26, 31, 16, and 15, in addition to the supplementary numbers 44 and 6, said the winning ticket was purchased at the local newsXpress Tatura at 138 Hogan Street.
She said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from The Lott: “It was 5am on Sunday morning and I had checked my TattsLotto ticket.
“I couldn’t believe it and my husband couldn’t believe it. At first, he thought it was only a couple of hundred dollars.
“There were a lot of screams at 5am in the morning! We were so excited and in a lot of disbelief.
“I was up all night wondering if the news was true. There was a lot of tossing and turning. I’m currently running on adrenaline and no sleep.
“It’s a lot of money to process. I’m just so glad to hear it’s real. I was waiting for someone to tell me it was a prank.”
The lucky woman continued: “My husband has always said we’ll win TattsLotto one day – he’ll always say, ‘It’s going to happen! It’s going to happen one day!’.
“We’ve been visiting the same news agency for over 20 years. We always buy our tickets from newsXpress Tatura. They’re the best!
“We have been dying to replace our cars and now we can. Woo-hoo! It’s so wonderful.”
The owner of the store where the lucky ticket was bought, John Lovel, said he was thrilled n upon finding out that one of his local customers won the massive prize.
Lovel said: “We’re over the moon to have sold another division one winning entry and we know this win will be absolutely life-changing for the winner and their family.
“No matter how many division one winning entries we sell, the winning feeling never loses its excitement. Every win has its own story, and we always love hearing about it.
“We’ve helped change the lives of many customers in 20 years, and in fact, our last division one winning entry was in 2016 when someone took home division one in Powerball.
