A lucky man in the USA has scooped nearly GBP 100,000 on the lottery after he played the angel number of 8,8,8,8 not just on one ticket but on 24, and each ended up being a winner.
Dennis Fears from the city of Chesapeake, Virginia State, USA, bought the 24 tickets with the four-digit combination 8888 for the same Pick 4 drawing at a local 7-Eleven store.
The set of numbers known as the ‘angel number’ is considered a Divine message and it reportedly brings great prosperity and abundance to a person seeing it.
Each of the identical tickets earned Dennis a USD 5,000 (GBP 4,105), adding up to a total of USD 120,000 (GBP 98,542) on Friday, 25th August.
Upon collecting the prize at lottery headquarters on Monday, 28th August, Dennis revealed he has no immediate plans for his winnings.
Virginia Lottery representatives said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “The chances of matching all four numbers in exact order are 1 in 10,000.
“Pick 4 drawings are held daily at 1.59pm and 11pm. The top prize for a USD 1 [GBP 0.8] play is USD 5,000 [GBP 4,105].
“All Virginia Lottery profits go to K-12 education in Virginia.
“Mr. Fears lives in Chesapeake, which received more than USD 27.2 million [GBP 22.3 million] in Lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year.
“In Fiscal Year 2023, the Lottery raised more than USD 867 million [GBP 712 million] for K-12 education, making up approximately 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.”
