A lucky man in the USA who just scooped his fourth lottery win has told how he looks forward to hitting a million-dollar prize.
John Sancrant from the city of Monroe, Michigan State, USA, went over the moon when he matched lucky numbers 2, 7, 22, 26 and 30 on the lottery’s Fantasy 5 drawing on Monday, 26th June.
And he said he did not even need to double-check the winning ticket – bought at the local liquor store Frenchtown Cheers – because he just knew he’d hit big.
He later discovered the ticket had earned him an astonishing USD 105,000 (GBP 81,047).
John said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from Michigan Lottery: “I play Fantasy 5 regularly and always pick my numbers based on birth dates.
“I had just finished dinner and looked at the numbers. As soon as I saw them, I knew I had won. I didn’t even have to get the ticket to double check!”
The lucky 71-year-old man collected his money at lottery headquarters in the city of Lansing on Thursday, 13th July.
He said: “I have had pretty good luck playing lottery. This is the fourth big prize I have won and they keep getting a little bigger each time.
“I’m hoping to be back here soon for millions!”
He told lottery representatives he plans to save his winnings.
Michigan Lottery officials said: “Each Fantasy 5 play is only USD 1 [GBP 0.8].
“For an additional USD 1 [GBP 0.8] per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to USD 500 [GBP 386] instantly.
“For an additional USD 1 [GBP 0.8] per play, Double Play may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to USD 110,000 [GBP 84,942] in the nightly Double Play drawing.
“Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at USD 100,000 [GBP 77,225].
“Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7.29pm. Tickets may be purchased at a retailer or online.”
