A woman who allegedly killed her seven-month-old baby and then set up a GoFundMe campaign to get jewellery made of his ashes and pay for the funeral has been arrested by police.

Little Jackson Knight Blackmon died of blunt-force trauma in the city of Amarillo in the US state of Texas on 6th November.
His mother, named as Angel Lynn Marine Varner, 20, is charged with one count of murder after she was arrested on 8th November.
According to reports, little Jackson lived in a duplex with Varner, the baby’s father and two other roommates.
One of Varner’s roommates, who has not been named, told the police that when the baby started crying at around 2:3am, Varner took the baby from the living room to into her bedroom.
The woman told police she heard a “thud” coming from the bedroom.
Varner reportedly told the police that she threw the baby on the bed and swaddled him with two blankets.

She added that she also “applied pressure to his abdomen,” until he stopped crying, before throwing him on the floor.
And even more shockingly, she said that although she realized the baby had stopped breathing, she went back to sleep.
After the baby’s death was confirmed, she reportedly wrote on Facebook saying that her “poor baby” was “no longer with us”.
She reportedly added: “I don’t know the details… but he’s gone.”
Varner even organised a GoFundMe fundraiser saying: “We are raising money for the funeral, memorial, and cremation of mine and Sean’s baby boy.”
“He was the light of our life and soon we will know what happened.”

She said they want to buy an urn and “get a few jewelry items that has his ashes in them so he will always be with us.”
A GoFundMe spokesperson told local media: “The fundraiser has been removed from the platform and all donors have been refunded.
“The organizer did not receive any of the funds raised.”
