The bizarre collision sent the family car rolling off State Highway 35 north of Corpus Christi, in the US state of Texas, on the morning of Sunday, 16th July onto a grass verge.

Images of the smash show a badly damaged pickup truck beside the highway.

Police named mum-to-be Gabrielle Breaux, from the state of Louisiana – as the crash’s only fatality.

Medics were unable to save her unborn baby.

A second adult and three children – not named by police – were injured and are being treated in hospital.
