A man in the USA has been arrested after he threatened a Jewish senator via voicemail and vowed to finish what Hitler started.
John Anthony Miller, 43, from Las Vegas, Nevada state, USA, is facing federal charges for threatening Senator Jacky Rosen, 66, over voicemail messages between 11th and 24th October.
He was apprehended after he reportedly called the federal official a ‘vermin’ and vowed to ‘finish what Hitler started’ on Thursday, 26th October.
The threats followed after the federal stateswoman joined a delegation of senators on a trip to Israel after Hamas’ attack on 7th October.
Miller reportedly left the once president of her local synagogue, a number of hostile and antisemitic voicemails referring to Israel, Palestinians, and the West Bank.
According to a court document, he tried to tie Rosen’s support of Israel to her faith, saying: “You done picked your side bi*ch, and you done chose evil.
“I don’t give a f**k if you were born into it or not, bi*ch, you are f**king evil, bi*ch, and we’re gonna exterminate you, f**k.”
A couple of days later he called again and reportedly said: “Senator, I’m sorry to say, but ya know what, you’re a piece of s**t and you’re gonna burn in f**king hell for your f**ing crimes.”
US Attorney’s Office, District of Nevada, said that Miller threatened to assault, kidnap, or murder Rosen with intent to impede, intimidate, or interfere with her while performing official duties on 17th October.
He then attempted to get into the Las Vegas courthouse to see the senator, but was refused entry, on 18th October.
The office said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Additionally, on 18th October, 2023, at the Lloyd D. George Courthouse in Las Vegas, Miller stated that he was going to see the United States Senator.
“He refused to fully cooperate with a Court Security Officer and was denied entry into the courthouse.
“After being refused entry, he became agitated and started yelling and shouting profanities.”
His final message reportedly came from an unidentified number when he threatened Rosen’s family on 24th October.
Miller was caught after cops were able to track down the phone number from the earlier calls to a T-Mobile account registered in his name.
Police said he had also left his name in one of the messages, which is how they were able to confirm his identity.
The US Attorney’s office said: “Miller was arrested on 26th October, 2023.
“He is charged with one count of threatening a Federal official.
“A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 13th November, 2023, before United States Magistrate Judge Elayna J. Youchah.”
