Hurricane Idalia, a Category 3 storm, brought along heavy flooding as it made landfall on Florida’s west coast.

The violent storm – which landed on 30th August – brought heavy rains and flooding to the region, forcing officials to close down the pier.

Idalia came ashore near St Petersburg, Florida, a lightly populated area.

Local officials also closed off roads and bridges due to flooding and asked residents to stay indoors during the storm.

The storm is the latest in what has been an active hurricane season in the Atlantic this year.
