A Dallas teen is charged with human smuggling after leading police on a dangerous high-speed chase.
KTRE reports 17-year-old Kevin Olalde was taken into custody by Lufkin police on Tuesday, 6th June, after speeding and wrecking a Ford Mustang.
The 19-year-old driver is charged with passenger smuggling, evading arrest and carrying a firearm without a licence. The passenger is also charged. Three illegal immigrants were handed over to Border Patrol.
Police released dashcam video of the incident, which shows Olalde ignoring a request to pull over after driving away during a traffic stop.
According to authorities, they were able to place a spike strip on the vehicle’s tires, but the driver continued to drive.

The minor passenger was evaluated at a hospital before being released to his parents, police said.
Authorities said Olalde is being held at the Angelina County Jail. He faces charges of resisting arrest with a vehicle and possession of marijuana.
