Woman Admits She Murdered And Dismembered House Guest Whose Bones Were Broken So She Would Fit In Freezer

A 25-year-old woman has been jailed for life after admitting to luring another woman into her home with an offer of a place to stay and then torturing and killing her.

The court heard how Rebecca E. Dishman and her partner in crime, Sean S. Finnegan, 55, had persuaded their 36-year-old victim to her home in the 2100 block of East Fairview Road in the city of Oak Ridge in Tennessee State, USA, promising that she could have a place to stay.

Once she arrived there, however, in December 2019, she was imprisoned and tortured before eventually being murdered.

The victim, identified as Jennifer Gail Paxton, had been beaten over the head with a baseball bat when she arrived.

She was then tortured, raped and starved over a four-day ordeal and, in between, was locked in a room where she was given only a bucket to use instead of the bathroom.

When they had finished with her and she was dead, they mutilated her body and cut it up, breaking the bones so that the remains would fit in a standard freezer.

Later the remains were taken out of the freezer and hidden under the bed but then moved back into the freezer, where they were discovered in August of the following year when the Oak Ridge Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation obtained a search warrant.

The sentence against Dishman for torture, rape, murder, and dismemberment also included the fact that she was charged and pleaded guilty to two counts of child rape, following an additional incident was uncovered during the murder investigation.

For the child rape, she was given an additional 50 years in prison.

The life sentence was part of a deal that she negotiated with the Anderson County District Attorney’s Office to testify against Finnegan.
