A woman in the USA has had a stroke of good fortune after winning her second USD 50,000 lottery prize in five years.
The lucky winner from the city of Baltimore, Maryland State, USA, who called herself ‘Scratch-off Queen’ first hit big on a Bonus Match 5 ticket in December 2018.
And this month she ended up scooping another USD 50,000 (GBP 38,788) prize after she bought a USD 10 (GBP 7.7) Ultimate Cash scratch card from the Royal Farms convenience store in the town of Joppa.
The 52-year-old lady said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from Maryland Lottery: “People say I have got a horse shoe.”
‘Scratch-off Queen’, who considers herself a loyal lottery player, reportedly found out about her second win after she scanned the ticket with the lottery app on her phone.
She claimed she knew she had won a big prize after a message telling her to go to a retailer popped up on her screen.
Curious over the amount she had won, she instantly headed back to the store where the clerk told her she gained the game’s second-tier prize.
At lottery headquarters, the lucky lady said many of her family members and friends did not believe luck could strike twice for her.
But she added: “It’s just my luck.”
When asked whether she has any plans with the prize, she revealed: “I have no bills. It is all going into savings.”
She added that she will probably give some of the money to her adult children.
Maryland Lottery officials said: “‘Scratch-off Queen’ is the second USD 50,000 [GBP 38,788] prize winner since the USD 10 [7.7] Ultimate Cash game began on June 19, 2023.
“All eight top prizes of USD 100,000 [GBP 77,563] are still unclaimed. There are also many prizes remaining ranging from USD 10 [GBP 7.7] to USD 10,000 [GBP 7,759].”
