American cops have arrested a cruel dad after he told his pregnant teenage daughter to attempt suicide and she followed his advice.

The 13-year-old girl cut her wrist on 8th April and did so again with a shard of glass on 9th April, with the second attempt also unsuccessful.

On 10th April, she took seven Benadryl tablets in one go. Later that day, she took another seven tablets in quick succession.

After she told what she had done, her mum drove her to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, where her stomach was pumped.

Detectives found that on 7th April, her dad, Gared Wayne Canales, had texted her saying she was “pregnant and worthless”.

He had also told her: “B*tch, sl*t, wh*re, go f*ck yourself.”

And he had ended by saying: “You’re not worth it. I choose my girlfriend over you anyway, and go kill yourself.”

He was reportedly found in Massachusetts, and his arrest was announced by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Florida, on 19th June.

Canales, 33, is now being held in the Flagler County Jail accused of child abuse without great bodily injury and a misdemeanour violation of probation.

The latter charge stems from when he pleaded no contest to violating a domestic violence injunction.

He had been sentenced to 30 days in prison followed by a year of probation, which he had reportedly violated on several counts.
