Moment Hero Cops And Forestry Officials Rescue Sick Manatee On Florida Beach

This is the moment hero cops, forestry officials and others rescue a sick manatee on a beach in Florida.

The manatee, also known as a sea cow (Trichechus), can be seen being rescued by the officers, along with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers and the Volusia County Marine Mammal Stranding Network after the authorities were notified that it had become stranded on the shore at the Ponce Inlet beach.

The footage shows the rescuers banding together to lift the heavy animal up on a special stretcher before loading it into a truck for it to be whisked away for treatment.

Newsflash obtained a statement from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, 6th July, saying: “Yesterday, deputies Oldham and Warner joined MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife, Volusia County Beaches and members of the County of Volusia Marine Mammal Stranding Team in a team effort to carry a stranded manatee off the beach in Ponce Inlet.
