Powerlines Torn And Homes Destroyed After Fatal Storm Ravaged Cities

This aerial footage shows the devastating aftermath of a deadly storm in the US that claimed the lives of at least six people, including two children, and tore down trees and powerlines.

The Metro Nashville Police Department flew over the Madison neighbourhood, capturing the catastrophic damage from above.

The footage, filmed on the morning of 10th December, shows dozens of homes and vehicles reduced to scrap after severe tornadoes pushed through the area.

Several tall trees appear to have collapsed and torn through powerlines, leaving much of the local community without electricity.

Police advised residents to stay cautious as several roads remained closed down as of Sunday.

Many downed power poles are still awaiting repair, the Metro Nashville PD added.

Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell said: “There’s a long road of healing and recovery ahead for many of our neighbors.

“We’ll share information about how we can all support them in the days and weeks ahead.”

The powerful storms hit the area on the evening of Saturday, 9th December.

According to the National Weather Service, six tornadoes likely hit Middle Tennessee.
