Brave Cop Pulls Woman From Burning Car

This is the moment a brave cop claws his way through tall vegetation to pull a woman from a burning car.

The dramatic rescue began when a deputy from the Candler County Sheriff’s Office was flagged down by pedestrians on Georgia State Route 46, USA, on 1st July.

Bodycam footage shows how Sergeant Ashley Taylor gets out of his vehicle and sprints through a field.

He can be seen clawing his way through tall, thick vegetation before coming across a stationary car billowing smoke.

As he uses his baton to smash one of the windows, part of the car can be seen going up in flames.

Sgt Taylor can be heard shouting to the woman inside the stricken vehicle: “Get out! The car’s on fire! Get out. I’m here to help you.”

He then manages to pull the woman from the vehicle before demanding to know if anyone else is still inside.

After he fails to get a response, he smashes another of the windows but finds the rear seat empty.

A passing road user then arrives on the scene to help the deputy carry the languid survivor back to the road.

The Candler County Sheriff’s Office said Taylor’s actions may have helped save the woman’s life.

It said in a statement obtained by Newsflash on 3rd July: “Sheriff John Miles would like to commend Sergeant Ashleigh Taylor for a job well done during a call for service on Saturday, July 1st.

“Sergeant Taylor responded to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 46 and discovered the vehicle was in the woods on fire.

“Sergeant Taylor breached the window and removed the driver from the vehicle, potentially saving a life.

“Due to Sergeant Taylor’s swift actions, the driver was removed from a dangerous situation before it escalated.
