A woman in the USA has been apprehended for leaving her 11-year-old son in the same hotel room with a dead man who was one of two she had aslept with earlier in a drug-fueled threesome.
Amy Marie Kemper was charged with one count of child neglect after she checked in at the Hammock Beach Gold Resort and Spa in the city of Palm Coast, Florida State, USA, on Saturday, 9th September.
Police claimed that the 32-year-old woman met up with two older men in the evening, after which all three drank alcohol, snorted cocaine, and smoked marijuana together.
She reportedly also slept with both of them, while the 11-year-old boy was in the same room, police claimed.
Flagler County Sheriff Ricky Stally said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Deputies were busy this past weekend.
“A woman thought it was okay to bring her child to a resort in the middle of the night so she could engage in narcotic use and sexual activities.
“Unfortunately, her son was stuck alone in the room with the deceased male for several hours until she came back.”
Cops said they responded to the resort located in the 100 block of 16th Road East, along with emergency medical personnel at around 9.39am the next morning.
They then began resuscitating one of the two men, reportedly aged 60, after he showed no signs of life.
Flagler Cunty Sheriff’s Office said: “A 60-year-old male was then pronounced deceased by responding medical personnel.
“Various narcotics and drug paraphernalia were located in the resort room. The reporting party, identified as 32-year-old Amy Kemper, confirmed that drug activity ensued overnight.”
The man’s cause of death was not immediately clear, said police.
Kemper reportedly told the cops that she had been staying in the hotel room with the deceased and another 52-year-old man.
She added that she met five men at a bar where the group had stayed until about 2 am before she picked up the child from his grandmother’s home and came back to the hotel.
She added that they all did drugs until three of the men left so that she and the other two ‘could have group sex’.
Police said that they discovered cannabis, Viagra pills, burnt blunts, and a silver tray with a white powdery substance that appeared to be cocaine inside the room.
They added: “It is also important to note that numerous sex toys were located in the bathroom and condom wrappers were located around the bed.”
When quizzed Kemper said that the trio tried to put the couch her son was sleeping on into a closet and covered up the door with a sheet so that he would not see or hear them.
However, after their sexual activities finished, the 32-year-old woman said she thought she heard the 60-year-old man having a medical emergency but decided he was sleeping after the noises stopped.
She and the 52-year-old man then left the room at about 5am and were gone for several hours, leaving the child behind.
They called the emergency crews only after they returned to the room at around 9.25am and found the man unresponsive and ‘cold’ in bed.
Following the incident, Kamper’s son was taken in custody by youth services.
Kemper was arrested and brought to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. She was released on a USD 15,000 (GBP 12,070) bond on Wednesday afternoon, 13th September.
She was ordered not to have contact with her son until her case is closed.
