A woman is facing murder charges after the bodies of her three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter were found in her home.

Brittany Medina, 33, was arrested on Tuesday, 26th September, after the two bodies were found in her home in the city of Mitchell in the US state of Indiana.

Indiana State Police said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “On Tuesday afternoon, Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators from the Indiana State Police assisted with the investigation into the deaths of two children in a Mitchell home.

“At approximately 4 p.m. at the request of the Mitchell Police Department, Bloomington Post detectives responded to 1211 Brook Street to investigate the deaths of a male child, Age 3, and a female child, Age 1.

“A female subject, identified as Brittany Medina, 33, has been arrested for two counts of murder.

“The Lawrence County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and transported the bodies from Mitchell to Bedford.”

The police said that autopsies had been scheduled for the two bodies.

They did not reveal whether the suspect spoke to them about the incident nor what evidence they had that led to the arrest.

They added: ” Detectives are working with the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office, and the case remains under investigation.”
